Be Yourself and Be Proud

No matter what you thin is flawed about yourself, instead of hating those flaws why not embrace each uniqueness that is you. Yes there are going to be people who judge you on your appearance, but if they can’t see past the surface you really should not be listening to what they have to say anyways. Yes I get pimples and have stretch marks, but the scaring is part of my story of how we all got to where we are today so why are we still hating ourselves for such shallow things.

I Will admit that years ago I struggled with this too, after the stroke and the weight gain there were these brand new stretch marks on my legs and arms and it was very defeating until I learned to see them as a mark of my journey.  instead of trying to mask each flaw go out there and embrace them. there are few things more attractive than someone who knows what their flaws are and embraces them. It is much better to be the person that knows and accepts what they know their deficits are than  someone who blindly thinks their perfect and better than everyone else.

It can be difficult to come to peace with your own flaws, but it changes ones perspective on a lot of things once you do. None of us are perfect despite what some may think so stop aiming for perfection and try focusing on being a good person instead. Imagine what the world would be life if we stopped caring about vanity and focused on being good people or making the world a better place.




Let Go

Whatever it is that is holding you from moving forward in life needs to be let go. No matter whether it is in life, health or your mental being. Yes unfortunate situations happen and most of us hold on to them dragging that baggage with us for much longer than we should. Depending on what you are holding on to it could also be affecting more than just one area of your life and being. The sooner you deal with whatever it is the sooner you will be free from it either.

Letting something go can be a long and painful process, but once you get there you will see that the process is invaluable. for example at least for me a big part of letting go of what happened and starting to get through the grief was getting memorial ink. As soon as the piece was done a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I started to see the light in each day again.

There are countless things that you could be holding onto that hold you back, it could be confidence or self-worth related. It could be something along the lines of being afraid to experience something else incase it does not work out. For me to let go of my baggage I had to implement a lot of mindful practice and meditation into my life, solely focusing on making each day better than the last. One day I woke up and knew it was time to just accept that what is done is done and sometimes we just have to learn to live life like each day is your last instead of dreading every minute. I promise that each step gets easier than the last when you’re headed in the right direction.

Chase that Passion

Whether its work related or life related when you find something that sparks that fire inside you, pursue it and make it a success or a lesson. Even if it does not work out you will be glad that you chased that feeling and you will not have any regrets about it. The last time I did this was quitting my job to heal and write my book, yeah I would have more money right now if I had kept the job, but happiness and health were much more important at the time.

Yes I knew it wasn’t the brightest idea, but my intuition has never led me in the wrong direction. ten months later and I’m still making it work so following my gut and chasing the passion was the right way to go. Not only am I doing what I love, but I am also so close to publishing that first book and am already working on the second.

Chasing your passion could also relate to your personal life, like your relationships, but in my experiences my intuition has repeatedly reminded me that things were not going to work out in that department. Still took a valuable lesson out of each one though. Whatever it may be in any aspect of life chase that passion because in a world that is so dark and twisty we could use a little more happy, passionate people.

Live With Courage

Being courageous and doing the right thing in all situations can be difficult, but you will be stronger for it. Instead of fitting in with the crowd and going along with every fad, trend, and belief stand out and stay true to yourself. This doesn’t just apply to situations in life, it also applies to your values and beliefs. Whatever they happen to be or not be if you are happy with them stay true to your convictions. I am not saying argue or get into disputes with people who think or feel otherwise, just know what you believe and see things with open eyes and ears.

We as people should live each day with an open mind because you never know when someone could present you with a life altering viewpoint. If you live a closed-minded life you aren’t going to gain new experiences or perspectives on anything and I don’t know about you, but to me that sounds like a sad life. Given that we all live different lives and are on separate paths we really should hear other people out because they could have valuable info that could enhance your life. The kind of info that could make your path easier or more clear.

In a day and age where we’re are all supposed to be sheep and not stand out or fight anything, be bold and stand up for what is right. Realistically it can be a very lonely life staying true to your values and beliefs and not being a sheep, but believe me it is worth it. I’m certain you would enjoy being a leader or an individual over being a sheep, so get out there be courageous and stand out!

Life Is All About The Little Things

Instead of always focusing on the big picture and always being disappointed start to acknowledge the minor stuff. Focussing on the little wins and small joys each day truly makes a difference in how one sees everything. For example instead of hating your living situation, just be thankful that you have a roof over your head. instead of complaining about food be happy that you get to eat. Not everyone around you is in as nice of circumstances, remember that others have it worse.

One of the things I learned during the recovery process of my stroke was to focus on the small improvements each day. When looking at the fact that fine tuning fine motor skills could still take years and that is daunting. Celebrating each little win brough a lot of sunshine into a world that was quite dark. Now for the most part each day even if it is gloomy, is filled with an obnoxious amount of sunshine.

Yes there are going to be difficult times as well as ups and downs in life, but what you chose to see and believe is what you are going to focus on and attract. So why not see the positive things and attract more of them by focussing on them. Try to see the positive of each situation and I assure you things will get brighter and more optimistic every day.

Trust Your Gut

We were born with intuition for a reason, when it comes to making decisions or avoiding certain situations listen to your gut. If you get a bad feeling don’t do something or get out of the situation. From first hand experience I can say that listening to that bad or off feeling I got definitely has helped me make the better decision more than once. If you are not going to listen to your friends I would definitely suggest you start listening to your body.

I can also say that not listening to my gut has resulted in some less than fun situation too so start working with your body and intuition until you get to a point where you trust what your body is telling you. I used to rack my brain over ever decision due to anxiety, until I realized that my body always tells me the right way to go in each situation. listening to my body has made things a lot less complicated, It is similar to heads and tails with a little more trust and a lot less probability involved in the process.

Trusting my gut has got me a heck of a lot further than being a hermit arguing with anxiety. Instead of making a pros and cons list to end up siding with anxiety, I’m anxiety free trusting my body to make the right decision. It has been a freeing process learning to trust my gu and I am really glad I started it.



Don’t Worry About Tomorrow

No matter what your goals are or how near or far you are to reaching them. I promise that no matter what If you are working towards those goals you will meet them eventually. Yes I also know what it is like to be frustrated that you aren’t where you expected to be at whatever stage in your goal. We need to learn to just take things one day at a time and accept that some things are out of our control. I can guarantee you that life will do what it can  to get in the way of your goals and you just have to keep pushing through.

Never in my life had I imagined that I would be where I’m at today, and I’m not going to lie on more than one occasion I have been really angry at myself for not matching where I expected myself to be. I had to learn to just accept that some things are out of our control like healing from a stroke and how that put the entire life plan three years behind schedule. In the end I am super grateful for how my cards have played out I would not have it any other way.

If you really want to live an unconditionally happy and peaceful life start to live in the moment with no concerns about the past or the future. Just focus on the present moment that you are living in with a can do attitude knowing that everything will work out in the end.
