Whatever it is you’re working on getting the final stretch feels amazing. It doesn’t matter if it’s writing, art, or a project at work When you get to the point where the countdown begins each checkpoint you get to feels better. After I cover the next twelve months I’m going to have to decide if I’m formatting the book into a chapter for each month or make the chapters longer and just divide it into three long chapters.
After getting a third into the draft of this book I’ve been getting more and more excited about the project as I got through each month afterwards. Just a few weeks ago I full-out dreaded the writing of this book because I was covering the least fun parts. As I got closer the two-year mark I got more excited because fun things in my recovery happened in that third year of recovery so of course I’m going to be more excited to write about them.
When I trashed the first draft I had started of this book in september a few months ago I didn’t think I was going to restart the book let alone get this far in just three short months. I was so frustrated at the first draft that I left it for two months and tried to work on other projects to regroup. One day I awoke with a fire burning in my soul knowing I needed to tell that story and get my butt in gear. I’m so glad I did because I am currently in love with the new angle I have written the story from in this draft. Don’t give up on your projects, I promise it will be worth it in the end.
